GETTING STARTED
We are pleased to offer free support to individuals, schools and organisations who want to get started on reducing plastic shopping bags, which could include:
Cross pollinating ideas and strategies which have been effective for other communities schools and retailers
Community Education and Social Marketing Planning
Community Consultation Planning
School and classroom strategies
WE are very used to offering this type of support by a combination of telephone and email communications, which has proved to be very effective for those in the planning phase
COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
Bag Smart offers the following “on the ground” services to communities
Group facilitation and consultation meetings
Information sessions for retailers, community groups and/or schools
Retail staff training
Community action planning
Mentoring Local coordinators and initiators
This service is made available on a user pay basis, and for communities outside of Perth, any cost of Travel and Accommodation would need to be paid by the community. See special offer for West Australian Communities

Special Offer to Western Australian Communities
In 2004 and 2005 thanks to funding we receive from Waste Management Board of Western Australia we were able to offer free “on the ground” support and facilitation of approximately 3 days to 25 communities
In March 2006 Bag Smart received some funding from Natural Heritage Trust to distribute to retailers a range of merchandise and a training CD. These resource have been provided to assist retailer to train staff around the issue of reducing plastic bags in their stores.
